birthday celebration cake smashes- £40
1 and a half hour shoot with 5 professionally retouched digital images in full colour and black and white
Within this time we like to take images of the 1 year olds before the mess in nice clothes, or something that reflects their personality or yours (a little Mini me). We have a few props we can also use, but please feel free to bring your own (please see What to Bring to the Sessions’ below). After the nice clean clothes, we then bring in the cake/paint/mess. After the mess, we put the little one into the small bath tub, take a few more photos, then we take them out and wrap them in a one of their towels and if there is time within the session we can take photos of this and them snuggled with parents.
If there is anything specific you would like during the shoot, certain shots, backgrounds, props, that you may have seen in my work or other photographers, please let me know and I’ll see if it is possible.
What to Bring to the Sessions
The Cake: We ask you to provide the cake if you are doing a cake smash, it can be homemade, shop bought, the gooier the better, with lots of butter icing so little ones can smear it all over. Please consider your little one however and ensure they won’t be upset by the mess.
Clothes: We ask parents to bring clothes suitable for photoshoot before the mess, during the mess and after. Sometimes we just use nappies, but you may like to consider nappy covers, shorts, swimming costume, whatever you don’t mind your little one getting messy. We do have a pink Tutu available if you would like to use that. Please bring some clothes for your little one to change into at the end of the session, baby grows or pyjamas work quite well, but please be aware your little one may still be a little messy.
Towel: We also ask you to bring a nice towel that can be photographed after the bath tub. We have towels that we usually just use to mop up the mess, so if you have your own nice snuggly one, that will make nice photos.
Props: Please bring any special/sentimental teddies, blankets, props such as wooden initials or name plagues that we could use during the session. Books are also lovely to use at the end of the session if your little one will sit on your knee after the bath. Photos of when they were born or as a newborn can also be a cute idea.
Essentials: Obviously, please also bring the usual essentials for your little one, nappies, water, milk, snacks which may give them a bit of a boost if needed, but please try not to show your little one any treats during the shoot as they can become fixated on the treat and chewing during photos doesn’t make great photos, we will try lots of other options before the need for treats.
